Google Plus or Google +, is the Google’s social networking tool.  users can share their photographs, and enlarge their social circle by inviting friends to join.  Friends can then be divided into groups of “friends”, “acquaintances”, “family” and “following”.  In order to use it effectively, a google mail account is necessary.  This social networking tool helps individuals to be a little bit more selective on who they want to have in their circle.  Unlike Facebook, it is possible to categorise “friends” so that only particular groups will see certain things.  This is for private individuals; Google has gone one step further and introduced Google+ for Business.

Google Plus for Business makes it possible for anyone to create a Google Plus page for business use.  It comes with an array of tools and products that assist a business owner to enlarge the number of people in the group, as well as improve the visibility of the site on Google+.  With the use of Google Plus for Business, it is possible to have serious business related connections people in the group.  It is possible to interact with different people for the sole purpose of promoting the business; this is also possible with the +1 service.  Google+ will allow the page creator to be able to observe how the page is doing.  Followers will be able to be tracked to see how they react via the page, and to know how their actions affect the business, directly or indirectly.

Creating a Google Plus for Business account takes approximately five minutes, depending on whether the creator has a Google+ profile yet or not.  A Google+ profile before hand is important, so one has to be created if the business site creator does not already have one.

The first step is to create a Google Account.  Once the gmail account is created, it is possible to move on to the next step, which is to create a Google+ Profile.  Creating a Google Plus profile is done by clicking on the “You+” link on the dashboard.  The Profile creation page comes up and the instructions can be followed quite simply.  After entering the first and last name, or the name of a business, clicking “Add your photo” will add a picture, it can be something related to the business.  After skipping the option to follow famous people, which can be done later, an offer to create a Google Plus Page for Business will come up.  This is similar to a Facebook Fan Page.  Categories will then need to be selected; this is fairly simple as it would be the description of what type of business is being promoted via this page.  Later, a request for information comes up; a Page Name needs to be entered, as well as a website link.  The next step is to choose who will actually see the page.  Terms need to be clearly understood before clicking the “Join” button, in order to prevent unpleasant surprises.  The page creation continues with the addition of the public profile of choice, and a business logo.  The Google Plus for Business Page is now done.
