Thursday, September 30th, 2010, tragedy struck when a community discovered that Alec Henriksen, a brilliant web programmer, aspiring scientist, and selfless humanitarian had passed away. Alec Henriksen was born December 11th, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is survived by parents, Todd and Alison Henrikson and siblings Cory, Caitlin, Eli, and twin brother Landon.
Alec has made great contributions to the web development community with the expectation of nothing in return. I have not been blessed with the gift of knowing Alec on a close personal relationship but none the less have had the opportunity to work with him very briefly and have benefited greatly from the use of his open source news system called PHPNS. This is a software system that Alec had begun to develop at the young age of 14 and continued to develop for close to 3 years. Might I add the magnitude of this project is one that could easily keep a team of experienced PHP professionals busy for quite some time. Alec Henriksen had an obvious ability to accel way beyond the average 14 year old boy in both computational skills and project management skills.
RIP Alec Henriksen
You will never be forgotten
